Please be aware that due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, our April and May events have been postponed. Your tickets will still be valid for the new dates. For current performers enrolled in the Frozen JR program, we will resume regular meetings as soon as able. We thank you for your support and understanding at this time.

As we are an extra-curricular activity which only happens on a weekly basis, this and all our programs depend on students and their families to stay engaged between rehearsals. We do not have access to students on a daily basis as would a school program. Please stay in touch with us, and continue to practice at home with scripts, recordings, and choreography videos.

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE 2019-20 MUSICAL THEATRE PROGRAMS. If you would like to apply to be on an interest list, you can fill out the form below and when we announce the opening of a new program, you will be notified by email. We encourage interested parties to try out our other youth programs to gain stage and singing experience to prepare for our next Musical Theatre intake.

Director:Randi Jo Torgrimson

The DCCS Musical Theatre program gives children aged 9 through 15 the chance to be a part of a live musical theatre production. Students learn acting techniques, stage movement and presence, choreography and vocal skills, as well as the staging of songs and theatrical scenes. Program activities include every aspect of a theatrical production from basic skills and auditions, to rehearsals and dress rehearsals which will culminate in three public performances. In this program, we focus on developing each performer’s confidence and stage presence through positive reinforcement and encouragement. As a successful show depends on each and every actor and enrollment space is limited, a high commitment level is required of every participant in the program. Students with lead roles will often have additional practices to complete scenes work. For more information, call Randi Jo at (250) 219-4640.
