Theatre

Ages 8 to 15

The DCCS Musical Theatre program gives children aged 8 through 15 the chance to be a part of a live musical theatre production. Students will learn acting techniques, stage movement and presence, choreography and vocal skills, as well as the staging of songs and theatrical scenes. Program activities include every aspect of a theatrical production from basic skills and auditions, to rehearsals and dress rehearsals which will culminate in two public performances. In this program, we focus on developing each performer’s confidence and stage presence through positive reinforcement and encouragement. As a successful show depends on each and every actor and enrolment space is limited, a high commitment level is required of every participant in the program. Students with lead roles will have additional practices after the main group rehearsal.

Our 2017-18 production is:

Rehearsals are on Tuesdays, from 6:00 to 7:30 and 7:45 to 8:45
