FIND OUT HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT THE DCCS AND PARTNER WITH US
Your support is vital now more than ever.
JOIN US IN BUILDING A RESILIENT FUTURE
Each year, the community of Dawson Creek comes together to engage our youth in new and exciting ways and to support local grassroots initiatives. The DCCS inspires its members and audiences to grow, to engage, and to thrive in our northern community. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the support of individuals, foundations, and corporations to make music accessible and affordable in our community. Each dollar helps to raise the curtain on our current and future seasons.
In our small community, we reach more than 10,000 audience members through community engagement events, partnerships, and performances. Our educational programs have upwards of 200 families (many with multiple siblings and generations) participating in cultural experiences. We passionately build partnerships and expose our members and audiences to theatrical and vocal arts. Although we’re not physically singing together right now, our team continues to work on program development, virtual program offerings, box office, and our upcoming season.
Since 2014, the DCCS has offered an annual season of vision and enthusiasm. We’d love for you to join us as a partner and to experience the benefits and opportunities we can bring to your organization. Corporate support can be provided to DCCS in three different ways:
- Sponsorship
- Corporate Donations
- Gifts in Kind

The Dawson Creek Choral Society is a provincially registered non-profit providing professional music education opportunities in the South Peace region of British Columbia. Our programs are the legs that hold up a vibrant network of like-minded individuals who believe that music has the power to impact lives all around us. We’re a busy organization with many fundraisers and community events working year-round. DCCS is a member organization of the Dawson Creek & District Chamber of Commerce, the South Peace Community Arts Council, the Northern Lights Community Charitable Gaming Association, and the British Columbia Choral Federation.
Each of our four program streams serve a purpose in supporting the overall mission of our organization.
DCCS PROGRAM GUIDE
KINDERMUSIK
The Kindermusik program is an internationally licensed curriculum for children aged 0 to 5 and their caregivers. Kindermusik classes are specifically designed to capture the curiosity and energy of young children at various stages of development, and uses music to bring about benefits to literacy, numeracy, physical awareness, self-regulation, independence, bonding, and more.
CHOIR
Our choral program is divided into four main age divisions starting with the youngest singers at 5 years old. Each season, the music we learn and perform is centered around different themes. Each group meets on a weekly basis. Choir, to us, is a vehicle for not only musical excellence, but for developing community, humanity, harmony, and empathy. We work together to create beauty.
MUSICAL THEATRE
The DCCS Musical Theatre program is an energetic and intensive program for youth aged 9 to 15. Students are mentored in their abilities to sing, act, dance, and perform in fully-staged musical theatre productions. We believe that acting is reacting, and teach performers to engage with others onstage and with their audience, to deliver a high quality theatrical experience.
COMMUNITY
Outside of our main program activities, the Dawson Creek Choral Society is an advocate for the vibrant arts and cultural scene in our region. We believe in building a better world for future generations, and do so by connecting with local partners to respond to needs in our community. We volunteer, fundraise, and use our events to amplify the many voices of our community and our public.
