The Expressive Musical Arts camp is a full-day camp for youth aged 9 to 13. Activities will include experimentation with instrument building, piano modification, improvisation, multimedia art projects, noise, and acoustics. Each day, rain or shine, students will go on a “sound walk” to observe the soundscape of our City’s environment. During the sound walks, participants will be making recordings of what we hear, and those recordings will be produced into a one-of-a-kind electroacoustic soundscape composition. There will be a final performance/demonstration on the Friday evening of the camp, for students to showcase their creations throughout the week. Some snacks will be provided, but students should bring a packed lunch.

The camp will run August 19th to 23rd from 9:30 to 4:00. Space is limited in this program, so register early to guarantee your spot.

Cost to participate is $225 with current DCCS Membership. There will be a 10% discount assessed for additional siblings.
