Please be aware that due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, our April and May events have been postponed. Your tickets will still be valid for the new dates. For currently enrolled Kindermusik families, we are offering weekly video classes and the option to rent instrument kits for 4-week units. We thank you for your support and understanding at this time.
When you enroll in Kindermusik at any time, you are provided with high-quality online resources that correspond with each 4-week unit as it is taught. These materials come directly from Kindermusik International and include videos, literacy and numeracy activities, craft ideas, sign language, and music streaming. These materials, once assigned to your account, never go away so you can always revisit past units and your favourite songs! Please be aware that personal connection and group dynamics are at the heart of the Kindermusik experience – the online class format, while essential at this time of social distancing, is not the ideal. We’re still working hard to deliver an experience as similar to the studio experience as possible.
As of March 20th, we have three weeks remaining in our winter term. After these three weeks we hope to continue to offer new sessions. We are offering our classes through the Zoom online platform, which you can download as an app or use from a desktop or laptop computer. This helps us stay connected and engaged as we visit and share music and joy with each other during what are surely challenging times for all families. If you’re interested in enrolling to join our classes, please complete the registration form on our Enrolment page, and we will be in touch with further instructions. Rates will remain the same as posted, pro-rated to the amount of time you enroll for a given session. Right now, we’re offering families unlimited access to any of our live classes, regardless of which curriculum you’re registered for.
At every stage of development, the Kindermusik curriculum is designed to give children the opportunity to grow in not only their musical abilities, but also in other crucial learning areas. These include cognition and executive function, social and emotional capacity, creativity, physical literacy, language, reading, and logic. Each class follows a recognizable routine with musical activities, movement, singing, rhyming, and child-caregiver bonding. We engage your child’s mind and senses during these most critical developmental years.
Classes are 45 minutes long, offered in 4-week units, or in 12-week terms. All families who enroll receive Digital Home Materials with their registration. Because of the progressive nature of each unit and with the cost of home materials for each curriculum, this program is not available for drop-in. However, all new families are encouraged to attend a commitment-free trial class to make sure that Kindermusik is a good fit. We recognize that every family is at a different stage in their journey and we will do as much as we can to accommodate your individual needs.
Our regular season program features 5 levels of Kindermusik classes. Fees are $55.00 per 4-week unit ($38.00 for additional siblings) or $155 per 12-week term ($126.00 for additional siblings). A $10.00 membership fee will be charged upon registration if your family does not already hold a current membership to the Dawson Creek Choral Society.
