DCCS IN THE COMMUNITY
Our members are passionate about the arts in our corner of the world, and in sharing the love and joy of music with those around us.
We participate in fundraisers not just to support our own programs but also to bolster our partners and friends.
We volunteer, we sing, and we work to engage the public. You don’t need to be a member of one of our programs to participate with us, and we’re always looking for volunteers to help out at various events, including the following initiatives.

World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day in 2020 is on Saturday, October 10th. DCCS would like to invite mental health and wellness service providers to be a part of this all-day free event. Help us promote positive mental health and healthy living in our community. Become involved as a performer, lead an activity, play games, or volunteer your time.

Angel Chorus Charity Sweep
Each fall, DCCS challenges our community to get creative! Individuals and groups are asked to construct an angel for a cause/charity of their choice. The choir of angels are displayed through the month of December, gathering donations and raising awareness of some of the many wonderful non-profits and charities in our community.

Anti-Racism Commitment
The Dawson Creek Choral Society upholds the value that Black and Indigenous Lives Matter, and that racialized minorities are suffering from systemic and day-to-day aggressions in our society. We work with the Dawson Creek Literacy Society and Community Action Teams to address issues in our community. Further info to come.

DCCS Bursary Fund
In order to support all members of our organization, we encourage donations to the DCCS Bursary Fund. This fund is an internally restricted sum that supports members and prospective members who may need assistance with program fees. It’s intended for those who may not be eligible for funding through Dawson Creek Arts & Wellness.
