Ages 8 to 12
The Senior Children’s Choir program is designed to provide a fun and positive atmosphere for learning music and basic choral etiquette. In this program, your child will learn basic vocal techniques and experimentation, how to identify rhythms and harmonies, and introductory music literacy (reading notes, understanding conducting patterns, and learning about different musical styles). A major component to this program is developing a strong understanding of group dynamics through respect for peers and instructors. Students will have opportunities for solos and duets, and will have a chance to compete in local and regional Arts Festivals. The Children’s Chorus will perform in at least two concerts per year, and potentially other occasional one-off events.
Rehearsals are on Thursdays, from 3:30 to 5:00
