LEARN MORE ABOUT THE CANTABILE MIXED CHOIR

Our adult choir program provides a chance for community members to come together as a diverse group of fellow music enthusiasts from our region. The group rehearses once per week from September to early May, and performs in two major concerts per year with several other one-off performance events. Soprano, alto, tenor, bass – we love to have any new members! The ability to read music is an asset but not required to participate in this program. The music we learn varies in terms of style, genre, and degree of difficulty, from classical to jazz and popular, from Broadway hits to traditional folk tunes. This choir sings a cappella and accompanied by piano. Prepare to stretch your musical horizons, meet new people, and become involved in helping to make our community a wonderful place to live and grow!

Season Sep to May
Registered members will receive confirmation of starting dates once school begins in the fall. This year, we'll be starting mid- to late-September.
-
Rehearsal Days Wednesdays
The Cantabile Mixed Choir meets for 2 hours each Wednesday, from 6:30 to 8:30. We'll have additional sectional practices on Thursday evenings, 6:30 to 8:00 (1st Thursday of every month for soprano/alto and 3rd Thursday of every month for tenor/bass).

Director Caitlyn Triebel
Rehearsals are led by Caitlyn Triebel, with collaborative pianist, Carmen Willms.

When you register, you get password access to extra practice materials, and other ways to connect with the program while staying engaged between rehearsals. Because the Cantabile Mixed Choir performs more difficult repertoire, and sometimes by memory, we need members to spend some time each week learning at home. Materials include:

Additional Program Information
Volunteers are needed throughout the season, including at box office and concessions, and in fundraising events. We appreciate the support from our adult members!
Singers do not need a ticket to concert events, but family and volunteers do. Ticket revenue subsidizes DCCS program costs. They’re generally $15 each.
Fundraising happens year-round for all DCCS programs. You’ll be asked to sell tickets or products, or to provide baking/concession items for various events.
Cantabile singers will be invited to sing in Choir for Hire, which are voluntary extra performances with other choir groups, out in the broader community.
Music folders are assigned to singers on their first day of rehearsal. All singers are required to pay a $20 deposit which will be returned after safe return of folders.
In a team atmosphere, all Cantabile singers work to support one another on different ventures. We are more than just a group that sings together!
