Big Time Haulers Sponsors Rights to Children’s Musical
Disney’s Beauty & the Beast JR to Show in March 2019
September 7, 2018
DAWSON CREEK, BC — Dawson Creek Choral Society’s 2019 musical production of Disney’s Beauty & the Beast JR. is being sponsored by Big Time Haulers. The title sponsorship supports the purchase of legal rights to perform the production through Music Theatre International (MTI). The show will run from March 7th to 9th.
Big Time Haulers has partnered with DCCS for past productions and jumped at the opportunity to sponsor this show. “Our largest influence for supporting the program obviously comes from the fact that our daughters are in the program,” say Mandy and Aman Sandhu of Big Time Haulers. “We have watched the impact this program has had on the children that participate. It is beautiful to watch the development of the children as the play comes into its own. It’s really a treat to observe as an outsider.”
The DCCS Musical Theatre program is for students aged 9 through 15, designed as an enrichment program for encouraging confident young performers. The program offers instruction in acting, singing, and stage movement under the primary direction of Randi Jo Torgrimson. The Sandhus “appreciate and would like to support the massive efforts of Randi Jo Torgrimson, Caitlyn Triebel, and Aaron Tremblay. The time and effort that these three individuals put into teaching the children to put on a musical production is quite a feat.”
2019 will mark the fourth consecutive year that the trio has put on a musical theatre production from MTI’s Broadway Junior Collection®. Past productions include Disney’s Alice in Wonderland JR (2016), Disney’s Mulan JR (2018), and Dreamworks’ Madagascar: A Musical Adventure JR (2018). This year’s program has 39 students registered, and will begin rehearsals on September 11th, already gearing up to the show run in March. Tickets will be available starting in January, 2019.
The Dawson Creek Choral Society is a non-profit organization providing music education opportunities in the South Peace region.
